Soluble Seam or Fully Soluble Laundry Bag… Read This to Decide Which is Right For You.

One of the most commonly asked questions we get here at Newfound Distributors is the difference between a fully soluble and soluble seam bag – it’s important to know the key differences, so you can decide which bag is more suitable for your laundry.

Fully Soluble Laundry Bags

As the name suggests, the fully soluble bags will entirely disappear in the wash (in temperatures above 45 degrees Celsius), without leaving a trace on washing machines, linen, or clothing. Unfortunately, this means that they cannot be used in cold wash cycles as the bag will not dissolve and will become gluggy. Fully soluble bags are more environmentally friendly as they do not have plastic waste and are non-toxic. These bags are also recommended for Larger laundries that have an automated washing to tunnel drying system, as the leftover plastic from a soluble seam bag can be potentially damaging to your drier if it melts.

Soluble Seam Laundry Bags

As a cheaper alternative, nursing homes and hospitals prefer to us Soluble Seam Laundry Bags; however, the staff will be left to dispose of the plastic bag at the end of the wash cycle.  The Soluble Strip can dissolve in both cold and hot water, so it is ideal for laundries that use a cold wash cycle.
